CAN YOU CHEAT ON YOUR HUSBAND WITH...

Hair products? That doesn't count in the Ten Commandments, right?

I am a compulsive hair smeller. Scratch that. I am a compulsive hair smeller only of myself and my family. I don't go around randomly smelling strangers because that would be wrong and totally disgusting--so for people who don't shampoo their tresses, you're off the hook. Shame on you, though.

Lately, I am enamored with the Kerastase Elixir Ultime with Immortal Moringa (AKA malunggay). As a total sucker for anything moringa--from the pan de sal to the soups in order to boost my nursing prowess--it came as no surprise that I would be in-love with this hair serum from Kerastase. With just a few drops post-shower and hair completely dry, my hair smelled both woods-y and citrus-y. The aftermath is great, as the ends (where I dabbed them on), looked instantly less dry and fly-away (ish). This, and another Elixir Ultime variant made the cut for SPARK Magazine's best beauty buys this season. Dare I say this is my newfound hair BFF? Stick around, but for overnight use, the smell retained and the damaged locks look and feel nourished. This is about $54 in the U.S., but let me find out the price in Manila. I love the facets on the bottle as well, highlighting the gem of a product that it is (bet you didn't see that coming). Oh, do you see that orange glow on the box? That's me in my muumuu.

Next up, I consider it a pat on my back as a mother when my children's hair smell delicious, and other people say so themselves. It means the girls (and the little guy) are hygienic and well-groomed, and coupled with the busy work schedule, that takes a lot out of me. Yes, I personally give all my kids a bath despite them having nannies. Self-imposed stress yet again.

For the girls, I love the smell of recently-discovered SheaMoisture shampoo (with frankincense and myrrh--I guess the makers saved the gold for their pockets, or one of the three kings couldn't make it to the factory). It's organic, raw shea, chamomile and argan oil--and if I weren't embarrassed to take some loot off of my children's stash, I would absolutely use this on my hair. And I have--once. It's the type that makes someone stop and stare, that's how good it is (The SheaMoisture lotion is also as excellent, by the way, but that makes for a separate post as it also made the list for BC Magazine's latest issue). This shampoo is about U.S. $10 in Walgreens, but it lasts.

What are some hair products you're lusting for lately?
